In my reread of my fic, I've come to find that it's not entirely seamless. There are a few inconsistencies that exist by virtue of the fact that it's So Big. I feel like things really did move Quickly for them after they met, tho that is balanced by the fact that they've known each other for a Long Time, actually.

Most notably, the fic is getting Better. Like, the futaba arc and on, it's just gotten better and better. Not that the earlier stuff Wasn't good, but just. The way things start to diverge, the way each character is developing, it's all just. Really good. And of course, their relationship is sooo good. It's got depth and it's only growing deeper. I really enjoy it.

#speculation nation #discacc shit #i think the inconsistencies that are bothering me the most are #when akira was prodding goro about his hobbies. and goro says he doesnt really have any #id forgotten about bouldering for that. despite mentioning it only a chapter before. calling it a hobby.#this could reasonably be dismissed by the fact that theyre talking about ways to relax at the time. and bouldering is not a relaxing hobby #but a few chapters later akira pokes fun at him for it again but this time just saying hobbies in general. No Hobbies.#but he does have at least one hobby. honestly his food blog stuff could maybe be called a hobby too. tho it's done for public perception #so not a hobby? more a work thing maybe. but bouldering is still a hobby #the other biggest inconsistency i found was how. akira felt ok going on the 2nd date w goro bc he talked with futaba #got the reassurance that she was chill with goro In Theory. so he felt less guilty about going back to spending time with him #but the pt's didnt get this reassurance. from their pov he talked about goro murdering futaba's mom #then like a week later he calls ann over for helping him go on a date with goro. ryuji too #and theyre both just Chill with it. bc i hadnt really registered the exact timeline #this is a bigger deal than the hobby thing in terms of character consistency flaws. and it's bothering me #could possibly be waived away by the fact that in thay 'goro murdered her' convo akira Did make it clear he thinks goro didnt want to #evidence being the 'im sorry' message made a few weeks after the murder was done #additionally it's ryuji and ann. not yusuke. yusuke would have more of a problem with akira jumping back to goro like this #ryuji and ann arent personally involved with the situation. so maybe it'd be a bit less of a big deal #still kinda a big deal tho #everyone gets the reassurance of Goro Didnt Want To later on. so anything in the future wont have to deal with this #this is all several chapters in the past so i cant really do anything about it #i guess these things can exist in my mind and bother me until the eventual possibility of me doing a grand re-edit of the whole fic #which honestly. it's possible. depending on how much i care about making it Last #if it gets super big then maybe. otherwise it's just gonna be what it's gonna be #yes im nitpicking. it's my baby and it's flawed but it's mine. i have the depth understanding of it #that makes even minor inconsistencies Frustrating. bc it feels like i should have avoided them #but i am not perfect. and discacc is not perfect. and that's okay.#death ment/
